Raya Raya Raya (Happy Eid)

hi people..hope you're all doing well...with the EID celebration just around the corner, lets have a review on why our fellow Muslims fast for a whole month and finally wrapping up their fasting month with the world wide known "The Eid Day".

i'm sure many would be wondering why the Muslims are obliged to fast for a month. the fact is that, all Muslims fast during the month of Ramadan from dawn to dusk. the main purpose of fasting would be to abstain oneself from food, drinks and also sexual relations. By doing so, the Muslims will be able to refrain themselves from any desires in respect to the Creator. despite being a compulsory agenda for all Muslims, there are exceptions for those who are sick, elderly and pregnant women. However, these people have to make it up once they're able to fast again. Whereas, the children are required to begin fasting from the age of puberty.

At the end of the month, Muslims celebrate Eid Al-Fitr. On this special occasion, the community comes together celebrating this auspicious day by leaving behind their sadness, grieves and problems.

Thus, with the review on Eid Day, we, the ELC of UUM would like to wish a hearty Eid Day to all Muslims...do enjoy yourselves..
