THE BEAUTY OF EXAMINATION and THE NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION

The term exam is always(forever) feared by all regardless the old or young ones... is it due to our mindset or a kind of trend which makes us follow others' footsteps??? Well, i assume that it all starts from ourself. Very often our tiny little brain reminds us that sitting for an examination is one's greatest fear and it needs much courage to face it. It is agreeable that one needs courage to sit for the exam, but the question is, does the courage comes from one's inner self or just from the motivation given by others??? Why do we need to fear the examination when it is the only existing way to test or measure of one's capability and knowledge in a certain topic? It is common to see students studying day and night just a few days before the 'killer' day. Aren't exams about what what you know, not about what you cram into your head one night before? Thus, we should not practice the same old methodology since we are old enough to understand that the examination is testing our mind besides preparing us to move one step further in our life. I presume that we can change a 'killer' day into a beautiful one as long as we accept the examination as a positive approach in life.

Moving to the new year... the most awaiting season by all is just around the corner! in just three days time, we all will be facing a fresh 2012. Talking about new year, I am sure most will be busy preparing their respective new year resolution but, is it really necessary? Although it is optional, the New Year resolution has always been some sort of a tradition or a custom carried out by all.

The tradition of the New Year's Resolutions goes all the way back to 153 B.C. Janus, a mythical king of early Rome was placed at the head of the calendar. With two faces, Janus could look back on past events and forward to the future. Janus became the ancient symbol for resolutions and many Romans looked for forgiveness from their enemies and also exchanged gifts before the beginning of each year.

Thus, this tradition started spreading its charm to the entire world and now, it is a tradition for the entire human race. So, readers... why wait? Set your respective resolution as soon as possible...time flies fast! Don't waste even a single minute! List out resolutions which are applicable in your daily life and the most crucial part of it would be sticking to the resolutions throughout the year! Bear in mind that being positive is the all time resolution desired by people. Best Wishes!!!

So, good luck for the final examination and a Happy New Year to all UUM Students.

Tick Tock
I’m writing this in a state of shock,
Watching the clock—tick tock, tick tock,
Advancing, approaching, relentlessly,
A brand new year; Oh, can it be?
The calendar says the same thing, too;
Time races, vanishes for me; Boo hoo!
No, wait! If time flies, I’m having fun!
A year of fun! It’s gone! It’s done!
I now embrace the blur of time,
Because it simply means that I’m
Too busy with pleasure, joy, delight
To mourn the passing days’ swift flight.
So I’m wishing you fast, happy days,
Pleasuring you in myriad ways,
Filled with happiness and cheer,
Oh Happy, Happy Bright New Year!
